In accordance with the provisions of Article 9 of Presidential Decree 36/2000 "Organization of the Ministry of Justice", the additional responsibilities of the Criminal Registry Department are defined as follows:

  • Keeping a criminal record of persons born abroad or whose place of birth is unknown or unknown, as certified by the competent authorities.
  • Issuing and issuing copies of criminal records to the persons concerned.
  • Fulfilling obligations arising from the implementation of international conventions or relating to the establishment and implementation of rules on judicial assistance in criminal matters and related functions.

Responsibilities of the Criminal Records Departments of the Prosecutor's Offices of the country's first instance

The Criminal Registry Section of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the First Instance is responsible for:

  1. The endorsement, classification, destruction, replacement of Criminal Record cards
  2. Receiving applications for the issue of copies of criminal records, checking and issuing them
  3. Checking criminal records for all courts - issuing a copy for court use
  4. The receipt of criminal record cards issued by the competent judicial authorities, the checking of such cards, their classification by lexicography, the monitoring of changes, the transmission of criminal record cards to the various judicial and other authorities and the deletion of criminal record cards following revocation, appeal, annulment or reopening of proceedings.
